We Care Arts believes in the healing power of creating and producing art that transforms physical, developmental and emotional challenges into a life full of possibilities. Since 1983 we have served the Dayton region, currently serving more than 1000 individuals per year. We enrich the lives of people recovering from strokes, serious injuries, struggling with depression or other mental health complications as well as those born with developmental disabilities such as Downs Syndrome or those on the Autism Spectrum. We are guided by our belief in the healing power of art. Creating art compliments medical therapies, increases self-confidence, and ultimately improves quality of life.

COVID-19 UPDATE

As We Care Arts navigates this unprecedented reality, our number one priority remains with the well being of our clients. Although our community looks different right now, We Care is finding new ways to stay connected with clients.

  • We have an online gallery on our website which features our client artist’s work they have made while at home. We are encouraging participation by posting work on social media and tagging it #WCAathome.
  • We are active on social media, posting video messages and mini art lessons from our staff. This allows clients to see familiar faces while keeping engaged.
  • We Care is also sending a hand written card to each of our clients in an initiative from our amazing board.
  • We have been keeping our clients up to date on logistical information with direct phone calls to each of our clients.
  • One of our fabulous teachers has created a Facebook group where clients and staff are able to share thoughts and projects. This group also keeps in contact with regular Zoom meetings, again facilitating a platform for clients to see familiar faces and hear friendly voices.
  • We Care is busy creating new videos that our clients will be able access and continue their artistic learning.

We Care Arts remains here for our clients and we are all so excited for return of our clients just as soon as it is possible.
